Volunteers Needed
(All LTYA volunteers must submit to a background check)
As an all-volunteer organization, we would not be able to offer our programs without the support of our many dedicated volunteers. Demand for our programs continues to grow and this has resulted in a shortage of coaches.
Quite simply, if we do not have enough coach volunteers, we will not be able to form enough teams to include all the kids who want to play. Please volunteer today!
Board Member
All of the planning and organizing outside of the individual teams is thanks to a relatively small group of volunteers that occupy the LTYA Board of Directors and the various Sports Board of Directors. We are always looking for individuals willing to lend a hand behind the scenes.
Team Manager
All teams need someone willing to take responsibility for running the team. This includes distribution of information, organizing team events and dispatching team duties. While this role has historically been filled by the head coach, it may be ideal for this role to be filled by someone whose time is best spent with the players. Additionally, the best coaches aren't always the best communicators and delegators.
Head Coach
This is the leader of the coaching staff of the team. This person is ultimately responsible for coaching of the team.
If you are interested in being a Head Coach, please do the following:
- Register as a volunteer via your LTYA account.
- Register for and complete the PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance) course.
- Register for and complete the Concussion Training course.
- Submit to a criminal background check (a link and code are provided within the coach registration referenced above).
- View and sign the LTYA Abuse Prevention Policy
Assistant Coach
These coaches are responsible for helping the head coach with coaching the team as well as field preparation.
If you are interested in being an Assistant Coach, please do the following:
- Register as a volunteer via your LTYA account.
- Register for and complete the PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance) course.
- Register for and complete the Concussion Training course.
- Submit to a criminal background check (a link and code are provided within the coach registration referenced above).

Team Parent
This is an important supporting roll. Particularly when the Head Coach is also the Team Manager. Team Parents assume responsibility for all of the non-game duties of a team since the players are the coaches first priority.
Referee/Umpire
This is an important supporting roll. LTYA is always searching for qualified teenagers and adults to serve in the role of referee/umpire.
If you are interested in being a Referee/Umpire, please do the following:
